  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon chopped garlic
  • 1 tablespoon regular flour
  • 3/4 cup full-fat milk
  • 1 teaspoon dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup grated gruyère cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated fontina cheese
  • Salt to taste
  • White pepper to taste
  • 1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Prepare the gnocchi by boiling water in a large pot. Add the gnocchi once boiling and cook until they float to the top. Drain and set aside.
  2. For the cheese sauce, melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Sauté garlic until fragrant, then whisk in flour for about a minute.
  3. Gradually add milk while stirring until smooth. Mix in dijon mustard and cheeses until melted and creamy.
  4. Combine cooked gnocchi with the cheese sauce in a large bowl, seasoning with salt and white pepper as desired.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the mixture to a baking dish, topping with additional parmesan. Bake for 25 minutes until bubbly and golden.
