  • 1 ½ cups pure maple syrup
  • 1 Tablespoon vanilla extract (alcohol-free)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 4 ½ Tablespoons cold butter (cut into small pieces)
  • 1 cup buttermilk

Instructions

  2. In a food processor, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Pulse to mix; add cold butter and pulse until crumbly.
  3. Transfer to a bowl and add buttermilk, mixing until just combined.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of dough into boiling sauce; cover and reduce heat to low. Simmer for about 10 minutes.
